Non-destructive testing of seamless pipes for 34CrMo4 gas cylinders:
1. When using the electromagnetic testing method to test the compactness, the 34CrMo4 steel pipes should be ultrasonically tested one by one. When the compactness is checked by hydraulic test, the steel pipes shall be subjected to ultrasonic testing or magnetic flux leakage testing one by one.
2. When 34CrMo4 gas cylinder tubes are subjected to ultrasonic testing, the acceptance level shall comply with the provisions of U2 in GB/T 5777-2019, in which the minimum groove depth category for hot-rolled (expanded) steel pipes is Class C, and the minimum groove depth for cold-rolled (drawn) steel pipes The category is B category. For 34CrMo4 seamless pipes, for steel pipes with a nominal outer diameter of not less than 114.3mm, transverse ultrasonic testing can be specified, and the acceptance level needs to be determined through negotiation.
When 3.34CrMo4 steel pipes are used for magnetic flux leakage testing, the acceptance level shall comply with the provisions of F2 in GB/T 12606-2016. For steel pipes with a nominal outer diameter of not less than 114.3 mm, transverse magnetic flux leakage testing may be specified, and the acceptance level shall be determined through negotiation between the supplier and the purchaser.
4. When the 34CrMo4 seamless gas cylinder tube is delivered according to the minimum wall thickness, the groove depth of the comparison sample tube for non-destructive testing is calculated according to the average wall thickness of the steel tube.
