Type E uses resistance welding on the longitudinal axis, specifically ASTM A53 A/B grade two resistance welded pipes, the longitudinal joints are welded by the heat generated by the resistance between the two ends of the pipe. Type F refers to A53 grA grade furnace butt welded continuous welded pipes, and the longitudinal joints are welded by forge welding.
